understanding in many areas of information technologies.

Particularly respected was his ability to communicate the seemingly complex to both the students and adults he has worked with over the years.

His network of contacts locally, nationally and internationally, is extensive and has informed and enhanced the work he has done over his long career with the DoE.

Although he is only recently retired, his professionalism in the support of educators around Tasmania will no doubt see him continuing to build on the work he has been devoted to for more than 40 years.

“Australian schools now have the highest-ever level of support for Digital Technologies,” he said.

“The Australian Government, having developed the Digital Technologies curriculum for use across Australia, has provisioned it with a range of professional learning and support available to every Australian teacher.

“An education for the 21st century has to include understanding of the computational thinking and programming aspects of Digital Technologies.

“As Tasmania is amongst the last of the states or territories to implement Digital Technologies, it is critical that our schools use the professional learning now available, as it will simply not be around in a few years.”
