The hottest ticket in town is scary stuff

- KANE YOUNG Entertainment Editor

THINGS are about to heat up in Hobart’s Spiegeltent, with Coney Island fire breather and sword swallower Heather Holliday taking centre stage when headline show LIMBO: Unhinged premieres tonight.

A gritty, more mature sequel to the awardwinning original LIMBO show which thrilled Hobart Spiegeltent fans in 2016, LIMBO: Unhinged takes the scintillating sexiness and spectacle of LIMBO to a whole new level.

A host of international performers have been added to the LIMBO cast, joining returning favourites like Holliday — who said her stunts in Unhinged are “absolutely” more dangerous than those she performed in the original show. “This one is a lot riskier,” she said. “A lot of performers like to make it look difficult for the audience, so they get a bigger reaction. But I like to make it look easy, so [audiences] might get desensitised and think the stuff I’m doing isn’t really that hard. It’s still quite scary for me, but I act like it’s no big deal.

“There’s plenty that could go wrong. I don’t want to give it all away, but once you see the show you’ll understand.”

Running until April 1, the Spiegeltent Hobart season also features comedy and musical performances by the likes of Dave Hughes, Celia Pacquola, Dan Sultan, Sam Simmons, The Audreys and Djuki Mala.

LIMBO: Unhinged tickets start at $49, go to www.spiegeltenthobart.com for bookings.
