Bob down and have a laugh

-

POKER- FACED funnyman Bob Franklin is headed back to Hobart to headline the March edition of The Clubhouse next week.

An award-winning comedian, writer, director, author and actor known for his deadpan dry wit and downbeat non sequiturs, Franklin has been a regular face on our TV screens since first rising to prominence as Jimeoin’s offsider in the early 1990s.

He went on to star in Shaun Micallef’s World Around Him (1996), Small Tales & True (1998), The Mick Molloy Show (1999) and Introducing Gary Petty (2000), and appear regularly on shows such as Thank God You’re Here and Talkin’ ’Bout Your Generation.

Franklin has featured in sitcoms such as The Librarians, The Adventures of Lano and Woodley, Upper Middle Bogan and Please Like Me, and has acted in several Australian films, including The Craic, You Can’t Stop The Murders, Bad Eggs, BoyTown and Three Blind Mice.

Last year Franklin toured Tasmania with the annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow in April, before returning in July to headline Jokers Comedy Club.

Now he’s coming back as the star attraction at this month’s instalment of The Clubhouse, to be held at the Hobart Brewing Co (Macquarie Point) from 8pm next Thursday (March 22).

Franklin will be joined by Melbourne comedian Kelly Fastuca, host Tim Logan and other local supports. Tickets are $25 pre-sale from www.trybooking.com, or $30 at the door (if not already sold out).
