Lethal Lauren banks yet another title
NEW Norfolk’s Lauren Banks’s scintillating form continued at the Bowls Tasmania South’s junior singles championships held at Buckingham last Friday night.
Following on from her recent successes in winning both the Bowls Tasmania South and then the Bowls Tasmania Champion of Champion singles championships, Banks had to fight hard to hold off a determined Jorja Maughan from the Claremont Bowls Club to win the junior singles championship by three shots after scores were level at 18-all.
Other junior championship results saw Sandy Bay’s Isaac Maughan and Buckingham’s Lucas Howell win the pairs championship and Isaac Maughan, Lauren Banks, Jorja Maughan and Lucas Howell win the fours championship. ROSNY Park was crowned Bowls Tasmania South’s super pairs champions when it easily defeated reigning premier Buckingham in the grand final held at the Howrah Indoor Community Bowls Centre last Friday night.
The Rosny Park combin- ation of Darren Monks, Mick Sweeney and Dave Duggan was too good for Buckingham’s Ryan McCoull, Kevin Raby and Andrew Chamberlain winning in straight sets 10-4 and 10-6. In the playoff for third position, Beltana de- feated Howrah 4-9, 9-2 and 1-0 in a tie-breaker.
