Situation saved by the Bell

-

LAUNCESTON comedian/toddler wrangler Stewart Bell is hitting the highway to Hobart to headline Jokers Comedy Club next week.

Bell first tried stand-up comedy in 2011, in order to tick it off his bucket list. A bottle of red wine and five funny minutes later, he’d landed a place in the Raw Comedy state final.

Since then he has performed soldout seasons of two full-length solo shows — Furry Friends (2014), and Every Picture Tells a Story (2016), which explored his first year of fatherhood.

Bell has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and shared the bill with some of the biggest names in Australian comedy including Greg Fleet, Tom Ballard and Tony Martin. He has also hosted and performed at events across Tasmania including the Esk BeerFest, the Junction Arts Festival and the Tasmanian Rock Challenge; and is the producer of monthly Launceston comedy night Fresh Comedy.

Enjoying his new status as the parent of a toddler, but still adjusting to the perpetual state of sleep deprivation, Stewart Bell headlines Jokers Comedy Club at The Polish Corner in New Town from 8pm Wednesday, April 4. He’ll be joined by supports Tim Logan and Daniel Walker and guest host Rob Braslin. Tickets are $22.30 (or two for $30) pre-sale from www.jokerscomedy.com.au; or $25 at the door (if not already sold out).
