A thrilling tribute
YOU’RE a decade too late to see legendary entertainer Michael Jackson live in concert, but Tasmanian “MJ” fans will be thrilled to see the next best thing — acclaimed tribute show The Legacy Tour — come to Hobart and Launceston next week.
Designed to give fans the closest possible experience to a real Michael Jackson concert,
The Legacy Tour features all the King of Pop’s biggest hits performed with passion, flair and authentic touches, including choreography and replica costumes.
The Legacy Tour show was created by and stars Texas showman William Hall, an accomplished dancer, choreographer and musician and lifelong Michael Jackson fan.
Having perfected Jackson’s voice, dance moves and stage persona, and dedicated to delivering the top-notch stage show his idol was famous for, Hall is now internationally recognised as one of the world’s best Michael Jackson tribute artists.
The Legacy Tour is the only Michael Jackson tribute show that features actual members of Jackson’s band and staff, including guitarist Tommy Organ and backing singers Kevin Dorsey and Ken Stacey.
The show’s musical director is long-time Jackson staffer Sam Sims, choreographer LaVelle Smith Jr featured in Jackson’s Bad and Dangerous tours, and engineer Michael Prince worked closely with
Jackson for more than 15 years.
Michael Jackson: The Legacy Tour has received rave reviews from audiences around the world — including in Australia, following a sold-out national tour last year.
Now the show is back in the country for a limited run of dates up and down the east coast, which finishes with a trip to Tasmania. Abstract Entertainment presents two
Michael Jackson: The Legacy Tour shows in Tasmania next week: at Country Club Tasmania in Launceston next Friday (April 20), and at Wrest Point in Hobart from 8pm next Saturday (April 21). Tickets are $66.21, go to www.ticketmaster.com.au or phone 136 100 for bookings.
