WHAT’S NEW ABOUT THE REVAMPED STORE

-

BABY CHANGE ROOMS

WHEN the original Myer store burnt to the ground, arguably Hobart’s biggest and best parent room went with it, leaving mums, dads and other carers with limited options when it came to feeding and changing babies in the CBD.

Many parents spoke of their disappointment when the new Myer store opened in 2015 with little more than a disabled toilet and fold-down change table.

But the good news is Hobart’s newly expanded Myer store features a modern and spacious parent room — close to the toy and children’s wear departments — complete with armchairs, full baby change facilities, pram and toddler-friendly toilets and two private feeding rooms and colourful art on the walls.

Mother of three Kate Lowther, who checked out the new Myer yesterday, said she used to use the store’s change rooms regularly when her children were younger.

“They look really flashy and will make shopping in the city much easier for families,” she said.

“I use to always use the Myer rooms, you really need those facilities in town.”

NEW BRANDS

Shoppers can browse a range of new concept stores within the confines of the Myer expansion, with Peter Alexander and Build a Bear among the crowd favourites. Also new to Myer is a range of exciting local and international brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Marcs, Superdry Womens, Nana Judy, Jack & Jones, Staple the Label, Champion and B. O. D by Rachael Finch.

ESCALATORS

There’s more of them at both the Liverpool and Murray street ends. Definitely a lot fewer stairs than the original Myer store.
