Barnaby, new mum spotted kissing

- MATTHEW BENNS

FORMER deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce was clearly happy to be reunited with exemployee and the mother of his child Vikki Campion after a busy week in Canberra.

The couple were spotted kissing and canoodling in the front seat of their Toyota Prado four-wheel drive after Mr Joyce jetted in to Armidale in his New England electorate yesterday morning.

Although the Akubra-wearing MP may have been missing the perks of office, after standing on the kerb he returned to the warmth of the airport terminal to call Ms Camp ion after she failed to pick him up.

Five minutes later she arrived and the couple were clearly pleased to see each other — sharing a kiss before taking baby Sebastian for a stroll to a local cafe for breakfast.

Mr Joyce’s wife of 24 years, Natalie, called Ms Campion a “homewrecker” when she discovered the affair.

But the Nationals MP’s actions echoed his words this week when he told Sky News how happy he was with his new family.

“It is an incredible joy, an incredible blessing and Seb is going well,” the 51-year-old said.

“I think people are surprised, when I am home I do all the cooking, do washing, hang things out, clean around the house. I find it, I know it sounds weird, cathartic.”

Proving his hands-on approach, Mr Joyce proudly carried three-week-old Sebastian, wrapped in a blanket against the 6C Armidale chill.
