Friendly visit is better late than Neven

-

VETERAN Melbourne stand-up comedian Mick Neven has been touring Australia and beyond for more than 16 years, and is returning to Hobart’s Jokers Comedy Club next week — and this time he’s bringing a friend.

A regular at comedy festivals and clubs around the world, Neven has entertained Australian troops overseas, been seen on TV shows such as The Circle and Hey Hey It’s

Saturday, worked with (and stolen jokes from) the biggest names in the business, and has even opened for Meatloaf!

Neven was a huge hit when he last headlined Jokers in 2015, and his ever-growing collection of eclectic stories — as found in his latest acclaimed solo show, Killing It — is sure to win him even more local fans this time around.

On this trip to Hobart, Neven will be accompanied by UK comedian Nicky Wilkinson, who chortle.co.uk described as having “effortless likability and excellent comic timing”.

Wilkinson, who is also one half of awardwinning physical comedy duo The Kagools, has been a finalist in prestigious comedy competitions So You Think You’re Funny? and New Act of The Year, and now performs all over the world.

Mick Neven and Nicky Wilkinson will perform for Jokers Comedy Club at The Polish Corner in New Town from 8pm on Wednesday. They’ll be joined by newcomer Kate Boden and Jokers host Gavin Baskerville.

Tickets are $22.30 pre-sale from www.jokerscomedy.com.au and Centertainment (phone 6234 5998), or $25 at the door (if not already sold out).
