When it comes to comedy, is Don, is good

-

SHARP, sassy Sydney actress and comedian Sallie J Don will make her Hobart debut when she headlines Jokers Comedy Club next week.

Armed with an extensive repertoire of dark-edged stand-up and wickedly clever characters, Don is a refreshing, highenergy comedian.

Her brutal take on parenting, marriage and politics will leave you wondering what the hell you’re doing with your life.

As a mother, comedian and feminist, Don’s cheeky style of observational stand-up has audiences laughing at everything from BDSM to Botox.

Time Out said Don “doesn’t pull any punches” in a performance that is “as shaking-my-head hilarious as it is brutally honest”.

A former news journalist and radio producer, Don has also appeared in a number of humorous TV commercials since turning her hand to acting and comedy.

Jokers producers stumbled on Don while scouting for talent at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and immediately decided to book her.

She is heavily pregnant, but before squeezing out a baby she’ll squeeze in a trip to Hobart to headline Jokers Comedy Club at The Polish Corner in New Town from 8pm on Wednesday.

Don will be joined by local supports Pierre Joubert and Ashlee Cairns and Jokers host Gavin Baskerville.

Tickets are $22.30 pre-sale from www.jokerscomedy.com.au or Centertainment (phone 6234 5998), or $25 at the door (if not already sold out).
