Mercury (Hobart)

It’s Bay day today as series unfolds

-

THE Mercury’s mega-poster series celebrating our capital’s most-loved landmarks already has Hobart talking – and today it’s Sandy Bay’s turn to take top-billing.

Today’s 1.56m-wide mega-poster that you will find inserted in the newspaper you hold in your hand right now features the casino and marina in the foreground and the University of Tasmania and Hutchins School in the background.

The mega-poster to be inserted in every copy of tomorrow’s Mercury is an aerial view of Blundstone Arena and Bellerive, with the beach looking its beautiful best. On Wednesday our focus turns to the iconic Cascade Brewery, with an image that also features the foothills and summit of our mountain. On Thursday it’s time to reflect on how David Walsh’s Mona has changed the way people view our city with a poster that will change the way you think of the museum and the suburb of Berriedale.

The historic Shot Tower and the coastline all the way south to Bruny Island features in Friday’s mega poster, before a seriously striking image of the Tasman Bridge, the river and the mountain at dawn that will be inserted in the Mercury on Saturday.

Readers also have the chance to buy any or all of the posters as a 1m-wide gloss print, with a $170 discount if you purchase the full set.

Digital subscribers can also view new exclusive aerial vision of each of the Hobart landmarks at themercury.com.au – and there are videos you really have to see to believe. It’s Hobart as you’ve never seen it.
