Alby’s family blessed by new arrival

- HELEN KEMPTON

THE parents of a little boy who was farewelled in March after he choked on a bouncy ball have welcomed a new baby into the family.

Anna and Simon Davis said hello to their new son Arnhem Oak after he was born at home in Wynyard, the Tasmania’s North-West, on Monday.

“How blessed we are to welcome our fourth babe,” Anna said in a post on her Instagram account.

“Our newest little LionHeart finally decided to descend from the cosmos and emerge into the world.

“How blessed are we to welcome our fourth babe and third cherished son, Arnhem Oak born lovingly at home.”

Tragedy struck the Davis family in March when Alby Davis died after choking on the ball he had received as an early fourth birthday present.

Anna was visibly pregnant as she and her husband joined hundreds of others to farewell her little boy.

Two birdcages full of but- terflies were released at Boat Harbour Beach and floral tributes were taken out to sea by kayak. Alby was described as cheeky, handsome and a real nature lover.

The Wynyard community rallied around the family and raised over $260,000 through a crowd-funding campaign to give the family time to grieve and concentrate on the pending arrival of their fourth child without financial stress.

The youngster’s sudden death stunned not only the Wynyard community but also the 60,000-plus worldwide followers on Mrs Davis’s Instagram account.

Her Instagram “the.small.folk” celebrated family and children, using photos of her family and their nature-based lifestyle.

Arnhem joins an older sister Sage and brother Acre.
