Eatery in roll call of top burgers

- HELEN KEMPTON

POPULAR Salamanca strip restaurant Jack Greene has been named among the top 10 places in Australia at which to order a burger.

TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, has released its list of top burger restaurants in Australia, based on the millions of reviews and opinions from diners.

Jack Greene was the only Tasmanian burger bar to get a mention in the top 10, which was headed by Dulcie’s Cottage in Merimbula, NSW.

“Across the country, these beloved burger joints have been delighting travellers and locals alike with their delicious meat creations,” TripAdvisor communications director Janice Lee Fang said.

“We have analysed feedback from international and local diners on TripAdvisor to narrow down this definitive list of the best burger restaurants in Australia.

“The result is a rundown of the juiciest, crowd-pleasing burgers you should try — ranging from traditional patties with cheese, to more gourmet options, with toppings like grilled mushrooms, lentils and feta.”

A spokesman from Jack Greene said it was fantastic for the restaurant to be recognised nationally for the quality of the food served. It follows the bar being named the secondbest burger joint in Australia out of 50 by Yelp in its 2015 and 2016 surveys. It was ranked seventh last year.
