I’M COMPLIANT remains unbeaten in Tasmania after delivering a brilliant performance to win a C2-C3 Pace over 1680m on Sunday night.

The Rohan Hillier-trained and driven pacer was forced to work three-wide for the last 1000m, but he was still able to forge clear of his rivals at the business end to score by 8m from race leader Inner Light, with Hayleys Comet about 3m astern.

It was I’m Complaint’s first start since March and Hillier was impressed with his effort as he clocked a mile rate of 1.56.95 and never moved out of third gear.

“He probably wanted a trial but with none on this weekend, I opted to run him first-up over a mile and he’s done a great job,” Hillier said.

I’m Compliant won five in New Zealand before being purchased by prominent Tasmanian owners Barry Cooper and Jamie Cockshutt for only $15,000.

“Jamie [Cockshutt] found him and bought him from the same bloke who sold Illegal Immigrant to my brother Troy. They’ve both been good buys and they only cost $20,000 and $15,000 respectively.”

Illegal Immigrant returned to racing from a spell on Sunday night but he had his colours lowered by stablemate Rocknroll Turbo, which led throughout to win comfortably, clocking a mile rate of 1.57.33, and ran home his last 800m in a slick 56.65. It was Rocknroll Turbo’s ninth win from only 13 starts.
