explores the fallout that occurs when a young woman announces that she is pregnant. Chaos ensues, as a family divided by beliefs, addictions and prejudices grapple with the prospect of an unexpected new life, and what that means for their own sense of self.

is written and directed by Benedicta McGeown and produced by Emma Skalicky, both of whom have just been selected to attend Australian Theatre for Young People’s National Studio Residency in New South Wales next month.

“The themes in the show — abortion, generation­al difference­s, love, loss, anger and trauma — are all concepts that I have struggled to come to terms with in my own life,” McGeown says.

“For many people, particular­ly for women, some or all of these topics can define a life, or the lives of a whole family.
