Maroons keen to keep improving

- ADAM CLIFFORD

DIAMONDBACKS coach Rowan Bridley believes the top four ladder positions may have settled down but has warned his side to keep improving ahead of a clash with in-form North-West Graduates.

The Maroons welcome back Nicole Geeves and Skye Lawler at the expense of Isabel Goldsmith, and Bridley has labelled North-West and OHA as the flag favourites.

“It might come down to who can get all their players on the field and not injured, with North-West still not at full strength,” Bridley said.

“Even though North-West have been performing better than us, we continue to improve.”

Graduates will be without key defender Louisa Jacobson and striker Em Divin for the 4.30pm match but have regained Heidi White from the side that thumped University 7-1.

“We have taken our chances in recent games but our young defensive group, led by Em Harvey in goals, will need to be solid this week,” Graduates coach Chris Hazelwood said.

He tipped OHA as his side’s biggest premiership threat.

“OHA are a strong blend of experience and talented young players and they look like securing a double chance come finals,” he said.

Derwent has recalled star pairing Jess Tremayne and Eliza Westland as it looks to bounce back from a disappointing loss to DiamondBacks.

OHA will field an unchanged side for its 1.30pm match with Derwent, while Canterbury and University will complete the round at 4.30pm.
