Sharks scent blood in water and a double chance

- KYLE WISNIEWSKI

IT’S a massive final round of the SFL today with four teams fighting for the last three spots of the top five.

The biggest game is between the third-placed Huonville against the fourth-placed Dodges Ferry at Shark Park, with the winner finishing third but the loser possibly missing the finals.

Dodges Ferry player Jordan Dunn said it is going to be another challenging game for the Sharks against a competitive Huonville outfit.

“They have got into third spot for good reason, they’re a good side,” Dunn said.

“The last four to five weeks have been very challenging for us, we have simply needed to win every game.

“This game is exactly the same and we are going to treat it like the last four or five weeks.

“It’s a big reward if we win, a double chance in the finals.”

Huonville has won only one of its past five games and Lions player Julian Parker said the group is trying to turn its form around.

“We had a bit of a line-inthe-sand moment earlier on in the week,” Parker said.

“We discussed a lot of things that we need to improve on at training.”

The other teams fighting for a spot in the finals are Hobart and Cygnet.

Hobart faces the tough challenge of hosting Lindisfarne at the TCA. Lindisfarne has only lost two games this season and sits two wins clear on top of the ladder.

Cygnet’s hopes of making finals rest on its home game against New Norfolk.
