Larissa’s a cut above

- SHAUN McMANUS

SHE’S conquered the world and now Hobart hairdresser Larissa Bresnehan, above, is about to pass judgment on it.

Ms Bresnehan, 29, won gold at the global Goldwell Color Zoom competition in Stockholm two years ago and is known for her striking work, right. Now she has been invited back to the “Olympics of hairdressing” as a judge, travelling to Canada where she will help decide every category of the annual competition.

“It’s awesome to be able to travel and see the world with work,” she said.

HOBART hairdresser Larissa Bresnehan cut down opposition from all over the world to win the ‘ Olympics of hairdressing’ in 2016, and she will return to the competition this year — but not as a participant.

Ms Bresnehan has been invited to judge the global Goldwell Color Zoom competition in Canada in October.

The 29-year-old won gold in the Creative Colour category of the same prestigious competition in Sweden two years ago.

Ms Bresnehan, who works at Nischler Hair in Liverpool St, said it was an “incredible honour” to be asked to be a judge as a former winner.

“It’s a privilege to be a judge and especially to do a full circle,” Ms Bresnehan said.

“It’s awesome to be able to travel and see the world with work.”

Ms Bresnehan will help judge every category of the annual competition.

“We are looking for how well the competitors have interpreted … this year’s collection,” she said.

“We’re looking for how tidy they work and how good their images are that they create.

“There’s lots of different elements to the judging side of it.”
