Now it’s a busy time for Kirsty

-

ARMED with feel-good humour and a gift for storytelling, Melbourne-based comedian Kirsty Webeck is coming back to Hobart to headline Jokers Comedy Club again next week.

Webeck has steadily climbed her way up through the Australian comedy ranks over the past five years, going from doing a five-minute set at the end of a comedy workshop to being one of the country’s most in-demand rising stars.

She made her Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut in 2015, with critics taking a shine to her solo show Hoping For

The Best. Webeck followed it up in 2016 with a sold-out MICF season of Annual Man Pash, and went on to be named Comedian of the Year by Melbourne CBD comedy room Kings Of Comedy.

Last year Webeck took her talents far and wide, performing her solo show Good One across the country, and also appearing at the Sydney Mardi Gras, the Australia Says YES Comedy Gala in Melbourne, and The GLORIAs (Gay & Lesbian Outrageous, Ridiculous and Ignorant comments Awards).

Webeck capped off a hectic 2017 by headlining Jokers last December, and her career has gone from strength to strength this year, including rave reviews for her latest festival show I Get It Now, and an appearance on Tonightly with Tom Ballard.

Kirsty Webeck returns to headline Jokers Comedy Club at The Polish Corner in New Town from 8pm on Wednesday. She will be joined by Mick Davies, Hamish Levis and Jokers host Gavin Baskerville. Tickets are $23.30 pre-sale available from www.jokerscomedy.com.au and Centertainment (phone 6234 5998), or $25 at the door (if not already sold out).
