SCOTT Morrison says “I’m on your side!”, but fails to explain what he means. Perhaps he means “I’m on your side” if you are a student without special needs that require extra funding to support your learning. “I’m on your side”, if you are not a child struggling with economic disadvantage that a good government-funded education will allow you to escape. Scott Morrison means “I’m on your side” only if your parents send you to an independent or Catholic school. When the state minister for education, Jeremy Rockliff, objects to the funding changes, he is on the side of all Tasmanians in government schools.
