SCOTT Morrison says “I’m on your side!”, but fails to explain what he means. Perhaps he means “I’m on your side” if you are a student without special needs that require extra funding to support your learning. “I’m on your side”, if you are not a child struggling with economic disadvanta­ge that a good government-funded education will allow you to escape. Scott Morrison means “I’m on your side” only if your parents send you to an independen­t or Catholic school. When the state minister for education, Jeremy Rockliff, objects to the funding changes, he is on the side of all Tasmanians in government schools.
