Hospital solutions

- Yvonne Stark Battery Point Dale Woolley Triabunna R.W. Hutton Moonah J.M. Vanderniet Bellerive

we will lose the Farm Gate Market, Twilight Market, Street Eats @ Franko. Let’s not even think about the cruise ships. If one checks the TasPorts website, there is no move to upmarket ships only. The same old favourites are still there. There seems an awful inevitability about it all. The Government and Tourism Industry Council Tasmania are not listening and the Hobart City Council election has degenerated into a polarising event. I wouldn’t have any faith in the outcome.

People should decide

THE events in Canberra over the past few weeks should never had happened. The people of Australia should have been the ones who decide who is to be the next prime minister, not the party. Why do we have compulsory voting when it is already decided before? This is not on. Our voting system is all wrong. We must have changes now or bring in non-compulsory voting. What happened to Malcolm Turnbull was disgraceful. Our governor-general should be stepping in to call order into our federal Parliament to stop the antics of our federal politicians because the people of Australia have had enough. I WOULD like to know what Opposition health spokeswoman Sarah Lovell would do about the health crisis at the RHH. She’s taking every opportunity to criticise the minister, but I wonder what proposals she has. Is it possible there has been an increase in need for treatment in the Emergency Department, due to changes in GP fees, lack of alternative care for mental health patients and increased poor health in general? Sure, the re-build is problematic but I’d like to hear solutions instead of constantly blaming the minister.
