Vote no to personal attacks

AS one of the vast majority of fair-minded Australians who are fed up and sick and tired of the personal vitriolic attacks being made by individuals or political parties at local, state government and federal government level, I give notice to anyone who does this, that they will go to the bottom of my ballot paper. Debate policy vigorously and strong by all means. That is healthy.

Virtue and reality

I WOULD love to believe that the Kingborough Council are as virtuous as a band of angels. Reality assures me otherwise (“Kingston ‘dark park’ fear,” Mercury, September 24). Ratepayers will be impelled to pay higher rates if, as asserted by Mervin Reed, the project turns into a disaster. Frankly I smell a rat.

Footy dream

IN answer to Steve Bailey’s comments (“Premiership echoes,” Letters, September 27), my dream for the AFL Grand Final would be for West Coast to win by a point through a kick taken after the siren, from a very dubious free kick and then to see Eddie McGuire’s face. Priceless!

Check homes at random

WHAT the federal and state governments should do if they care about aged people, is to have random checks on these places, with no notification of times. When the elections come up, the candidates who agree with this will be elected I’m sure. Show some grit, make it happen. Don’t let these people be abused anymore. There are some great places for the aged who care, but all of them should be randomly checked.
