Travellers will have a Ball

-

FREMANTLE four-piece San Cisco have hit the road with their buddies from Ball Park Music, embarking on an epic co-headline tour that hits Hobart this month.

San Cisco — Jordi Davieson (vocals), Josh Biondillo (guitar), Jennifer Aslett (bass) and Scarlett Stevens (drums, vocals) — first came to national attention in 2010 when Triple J started playing their track Golden Revolver.

But it was their 2011 single Awkward that really made a splash, when it was voted No.7 on Triple J’s annual Hottest 100 countdown.

San Cisco’s self-titled 2012 debut album was nominated for four ARIA Awards and featured two more Hottest 100-charting singles, Wild Things and Fred Astaire. Their 2015 follow-up, Gracetown, featured the radio favourites Run, Snow and Too Much Time Together. The group released their third album, The Water, in May last year, again landing in the top 20 of the ARIA charts. The Water featured the singles SloMo,

The Distance and Hey, Did I Do You Wrong. The band’s latest single, When I Dream, is out now.

Renowned as festival favourites, San Cisco have thrilled crowds at festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Groovin’ The Moo, Beyond The Valley and Lost Paradise.

Now they’re teaming up with another of Australia’s most celebrated indie acts, Ball Park Music, for a national tour that sees both bands playing in some of the largest venues of their careers.

“We first met Ball Park at one of the first festivals we ever played, so it is very special to be getting back together after all these years to be playing such iconic venues with our good mates,” Biondillo says.

San Cisco, Ball Park Music and Sydney rocker Ruby Fields play in The Goods Shed at Macquarie Point from 7pm on October 24. Tickets are $66, go to www.moshtix.com.au for bookings.
