Matt in the hat came back

-

MULTI-TALENTED Matt Okine wears many hats — he is a comedian, actor, presenter, and musician — and he is bringing his comedy cap to Hobart this weekend.

The Clubhouse presents Okine in Hobart on Saturday, performing his full festival show The Hat Game.

After getting his start with the triple j RAW comedy competition in 2004, Okine announced himself as a future star in 2012 when his debut stand-up show Being Black N

Chicken N Shit won him the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer award.

Okine’s career went to another level in 2014 thanks to sold-out seasons of his show

Happiness Not Included across the country, and his move on to triple j’s breakfast show alongside co-host Alex Dyson.

At the 2015 MICF, Okine took home the prestigious Director’s Choice Award for his highly personal stand-up show, The Other Guy. Based on that success, streaming channel Stan commissioned Okine to write and star in a TV series of The Other Guys.

He regularly sells out his own national tours, as well as supporting international acts including Dave Chappelle and Chelsea Handler.

In Hobart, Okine will be joined by Stewart Bell, while Tim Logan will host the event.

Matt Okine headlines The Clubhouse at the Hobart Brewing Co from 8pm on Saturday.

Tickets are $25 from clubhousecomedy.com.au, or $30 at the door.
