WEST Australian hip-hop veterans Downsyde will headline Swanfest at the Brisbane Hotel in Hobart next weekend. Formed in 1996 for a school talent competitio­n, Downsyde kicked open the doors for West Australian hip-hop artists, as well as being early pioneers on the national scene. Since then they have released four acclaimed albums, won a stack of awards, had charting albums and singles, and toured Australia and the world numerous times, building up a legion of fans around the globe. Downsyde, Mr Grevis, Bitter Belief, Mortar, Emjay, Rob Shaker, Greeley & Dunn D, Bladel and Ayeo will perform as part of Swanfest at the Brisbane Hotel from 8pm next Friday (November 16).
