Helping people feel at home

HOBART

City Mission has been providing disability services since 1991, as one of the first organisations to operate a group home after the closure of New Norfolk’s Willow Court.

Now, 27 years later, the organisation continues to operate four group homes.

The homes provide 24-hour on-site supported accommodation through their Supported Independent Living program, as well as other services as a registered NDIS provider.

“An important principle of our supported accommodation program is to encourage family involvement in the planning of daily support for their loved one,” said Hobart City Mission chief executive John Stubley.

“Hobart City Mission is committed to providing a home environment for group home participants, who are very much part of the ‘HCM Family’.”

Hobart City Mission also offers support co-ordination to assist participants to understand their NDIS plan and goals.

Social and community participation provides individual one-on-one home support programs, and individual support packages for participants who are yet to transition to the NDIS.

Hobart City Mission has been supporting marginalised members of the community in southern Tasmania since 1852, making it one of the region’s most trusted organisations.
