THEIR last game together could be their greatest. The Fahan School Year 10 touch football team is aiming for its sixth undefeated premiership in a row tomorrow.

The girls have played together since Year 5 and the grand final will be their last game together as they go their separate ways at the end of the school year.

THE Fahan School Year 10 touch football team is aiming to win its sixth undefeated premiership in a row.

The girls have played together since Grade 5 and tomorrow they take on their archrival MacKillop College in this year’s decider.

The grand final will also be the teammates’ last game together as they go their separate ways at the end of the school year.

Coach Mike Radburn said it was the lifelong friendships the girls would remember the most, not just the undefeated premierships.

“Since day one they’ve been a group of kids that work really hard,” he said.

“They’ve got a good team thing going.

“Because they come from a small school, they punch way above their weight and they’ve realised if you want to do well, you’ve got to work hard.

“Whether or not they realise it now, they would have got heaps out of touch footy.”

Mr Radburn said the first game of this season, in which the team escaped with a 2-1 try win had been the closest game during its six-year streak.

Other games they had run out 11 try victors.

Mr Radburn said they had an established rivalry with MacKillop and the games were always close.
