Stefanovic wedding cops serve from ex

KARL Stefanovic’s former wife, Cassandra Thorburn, has dumped a wedding gift of explosive claims and insults on the Channel 9 star and his new bride, Jasmine Yarbrough.

No sooner had the plates been cleared at Stefanovic and Yarbrough’s lavish reception at a Mexican resort than Thorburn dished up a diatribe, slamming her former husband as “fake” and an egotist, and bagged his three-day nuptials as over the top.

“He’s thrown three weddings, for goodness sake. Who needs three weddings in a year, give us a break,” Thorburn, 47, told New Idea magazine at Sydney airport.

She added: “Three weddings and a funeral. We had a funeral and it was my dad’s.”

Thorburn’s father, Max, died in October of cancer.

Thorburn, a former ABC journalist and author, then claimed Stefanovic, who cohosts the Today show, had “a lot to hide”.

“I’ve done a lot of reading about narcissism,” she said. “Everything he says is about this fake person who lives in this fake castle, it’s not real.”

She also accused Stefanovic of falsely claiming, in 2014, that he wore the same suit on the Today show every day for a year.

“Does the country really believe he wore the same suit every day for a year?” Thorburn asked. “Did anyone go and check every tape of every day? No. They just believed it because he said it.”

Thorburn also took a swipe at Stefanovic’s ego.

“After we separated he . . . said [to me]: ‘It is very, very hard to be the best journalist in Australia, quite possibly the world’,” she said. “That tells you who that man is and who he thinks he is.”

Stefanovic and Thorburn have three children together who flew to Mexico last weekbut reportedly did not attend Stefanovic’s wedding.
