Echidna excellence

- R. Rose Dynnyrne COUNT THEM UP: Keeping a list. Phillip Cocker Dynnyrne Jeremy Rockliff Minister for Education and Training

WELL DONE to the Tasmanian Echidnas Men’s and Women’s Indoor Volleyball teams who competed at the 2018 AVL Championships in Melbourne. Both teams won matches, playing against the nation’s best teams. What makes this achievement more special is that the tournament acts as a preselection to the Australian National Volleyball League for 2019. The wonderful performance holds them in good stead to be invited. Volleyball (beach/indoor) is great for all ages and exciting to watch. All credit to players and supporters who worked hard to raise funds to attend the tournament. Hopefully there may be an individual or businesses who might like to jump on-board as a sponsor. Go Echidnas! membership of our community. Removing councils and the democratic process their organisation would see as an opportunity to see their focus have more influence. Give me idiosyncratic, eccentric-attimes elected representatives who debate, consider and make judgments with the broad range of what’s best for their community considered. Elected representatives are there in the main because they care and whilst they don’t always get it right it is a far better model than to allow the hand of capital full rein. can continue to grow and deliver an expanding range of services to as many people as possible. The Government has a strong focus on lifting education outcomes and by making information in libraries more accessible and user-friendly we believe these changes to the borrowing process will help achieve that goal.
