Liz is here to help

-

THERE is seemingly no topic New Jersey talent Liz Miele won’t touch and she is bringing her wry, brutally honest and sometimes dark sense of humour to Hobart.

Miele will headline Jokers Comedy Club on Wednesday as she kicks off the Australian leg of her Australasian tour.

Her show, Self Help Me, focuses on her excessive global travelling adventures, how dating has changed for her now that she is in her 30s, her family history of mental illness and self-help addiction, and a lot of jokes about her hair.

The accomplished comedian started performing comedy in New York City at 16 years of age, and when she was 18 she was profiled in The New Yorker magazine.

Miele’s “feminist sex positions’’ joke went viral in 2014 and has reached almost 1.4 million views on Youtube.

She has a raft of US television and other media credits to her name and has performed extensively around the world in clubs, at festivals and for US armed forces deployed overseas.

Miele has completed seven European tours and has written, produced and performed in several web series.

Liz Miele headlines Jokers Comedy Club at The Polish Corner at New Town from 8pm on Wednesday (doors open at 7.30pm). She will be joined by fellow US comedian Justin Herman, who won a host of local fans when he performed at Jokers in December 2017.

Tickets are $23 pre-sale, available from www.jokerscomedy.com.au/bookings or Centertainment (phone 6234 5998), or $25 at the door (if not sold out).
