Ambulance, ute collide
PARAMEDICS on their way to a medical emergency were involved in a crash in the Burnie CBD on Thursday afternoon.
The ambulance was under lights and sirens when the crash occurred on the Bass Highway at the Wilson Street intersection about 4.10pm. The ambulance and a Holden ute collided, causing the ute to roll.
The driver of the ute was transported to the North West Regional Hospital and later released.
The two paramedics riding in the ambulance were given first aid at the scene.
