New boss

MINING group South32 has named its next chair, revealing Karen Wood will succeed David Crawford. Ms Wood, 62, will step into the role on April 12, when Mr Crawford retires. A previous member of the executive team at BHP Billiton, Ms Wood joined South32 as a non-executive director in 2017. She was also previously a member of the federal government review group the Australian Takeovers Panel.
