Ingles lifts for Jazz as Spurs lose yet again
DONOVAN Mitchell delivered 23 points and Rudy Gobert 21 points and 13 rebounds for Utah to cruise to a 125-105 win over San Antonio in yesterday’s NBA action.
Australian forward Joe Ingles had 11 points, a rebound and three assists in the Jazz win, with compatriot Patty Mills contributing 14 points (two three-pointers), four rebounds and five assists for the Spurs. DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points and LaMarcus Aldridge had 15 for the Spurs, who have lost four in a row.
In Houston, Paul George scored 45 points, Russell Westbrook matched the NBA record with his ninth straight triple-double and the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a 26-point deficit to beat the Rockets 117-112. James Harden led Houston with 42 points, reaching 30 points for the 29th straight game.
The Los Angeles Clippers overcame a 28-point first-half deficit to beat the Celtics in Boston. Montrezl Harrell forced two turnovers and Patrick Beverly hit a pair of threepointers in the final two minutes to seal a stunning 123-112 win.
The high-flying Bucks went missing without injured AllStar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, with Orlando snapping Milwaukee’s six-game winning streak with a 103-83 victory.
Kyle Lowry scored a gamehigh 22 points to steer Toronto to a 104-99 win over the Knicks in New York, while Serge Ibaka registered a double-double (15 points and 13 rebounds).
