Fun way to see sights

- SHAUN McMANUS

A NEW team challenge game set to launch next month will encourage locals and tourists to get out and explore Salamanca.

Mind Hunt will see teams of between two and five people race against other teams to solve puzzles, complete challenges, and decipher clues in a game co-ordinated by a mysterious figure known as The Mastermind.

Creator Ben Heaven said games would last 90 minutes.

“It’s sort of a cross between an escape room and a scavenger hunt,” Mr Heaven said. “You form a team and you go through a series of trials, some of them are on your phone, some The Mastermind will give you instructions on where to go.

“Basically, what happens is all the teams take on these challenges and race against each other to complete them.”

Mr Heaven said Mind Hunt would be a good way for locals and tourists to explore Salamanca.

“It will take them around some of the sights in the area, as they need to go and actually physically visit the places to get the answers to some of the puzzles,” he said.

“A lot of locals don’t really explore their own backyards, and we thought it would be a great way for people to sort of come down and have a bit of a look.”

The first sessions will be held in March, and Mr Heaven plans to run them in blocks of one month before coming up with a new narrative.

Mind Hunt will be aimed at people aged 14 and over. For more information, visit mindhuntlive.com.
