BASED tribute act Echoes of Pink Floyd will dive headfirst into

The Wall when they visit Tasmania for the first time next month.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of English rock band Pink Floyd’s seminal album The

Wall, Echoes of Pink Floyd will perform the record in its entirety, along with an encore featuring a selection of the band’s greatest hits, in Hobart and Launceston.

Formed in 2009, Echoes of Pink Floyd comprises Daniel Hunter (lead guitar), Jason Miller (drums), Mark Dole (bass), Paul Bindig (keyboards and synthesisers), Mark MacNab (rhythm and acoustic guitar), and Matt Goodluck (lead vocals).

Their aim is to authentically replicate the sights and sounds of Pink Floyd, and they have been touring nationally since 2014.

Goodluck said The Wall was “phenomenally successful” in Australia, and performing it in full was a huge undertaking.

“We’ve done one show already so far on this tour and it got a huge response,” he said.

“I think people really connect with this album, because it explores lots of different themes that I think everyday people can relate to.”

Goodluck said all the band members were huge Pink Floyd fans, and they were looking forward to bringing the show to Tasmania.

“It’s our first time as a band coming down there, and I’ve actually got quite a lot of family down in Tassie, so it’s a great chance to get to do this show for family as well as friends,” he said.

“Everyone in the band is super stoked to be heading down that way.”

The Tasmanian shows will feature local choirs: Tapestry Dance Studio Choir in Launceston, and Encore Dance and Theatre School Choir in Hobart.

Echoes of Pink Floyd are performing at the Launceston Country Club next Friday (March 1), and at the Wrest Point Showroom in Hobart next Saturday (March 2).

Tickets for both are $76.39, available from
