FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2019 themercury.com.au SUBSCRIPTIONS 1300 696 397 POLICE are making inquiries into a Launceston-based online clothing store after complaints from customers over undelivered orders.

Police confirmed yesterday they were investigating a number of reports relating to the store.

The Mercury understands Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading have also received reports in relation to the store.

A Facebook page has been created with people sharing their experiences of not receiving goods they had paid for — but the operator has denied any wrongdoing.

One complainant, Sharnie Bosworth of Ulverstone, who started the page, said she ordered three items from the Lizzie Online Clothing Shop.

Ms Bosworth claims the most expensive item she purchased — worth $100 — never arrived.

When she inquired, she claims she was given an Australia Post tracking number which did not work.

Another person told Mercury a number of the her friends had been let down by the store. Others said they had either not received items or had not been issued refunds when they inquired about where the clothing was.

The Mercury has viewed a number of pieces of information — including email exchanges — that show the matter is being investigated.

The Mercury contacted Lizzie Reardon, who confirmed she was the operator of the Lizzie Online Clothing Store but said she “100 per cent denied the allegations”.

She denied the suggestion that she had sent out tracking numbers that did not work and disputed the amount owed to customers. Ms Reardon claimed she had been threatened, and encouraged people to “be civil with me and try to work it out with me”.

She said the store was run through an online platform and was still active, but was not currently taking orders.

The Mercury found that Lizzie Online Clothing Shop was registered last month to an Elizabeth Joi Reardon and is linked to an address in Launceston.
