Foes in final fight

-

CAMPANIA and Triabunna will meet at Oatlands in the preliminary final of the Oatlands District Football Association tomorrow, with the winner to advance to the grand final to take on Mt Pleasant next weekend.

Triabunna is coming off an impressive win in tricky conditions last week and has now accumulated five consecutive wins at the time of the season when it counts. The Wallabies who are suddenly on the back foot, have put their second semi-final loss behind them and will be hoping to bounce back.

They are aiming to reach their second consecutive decider after what has been a positive season for the club.

Both teams have played only once at the ground this year and given the results were close losses, this game certainly has the potential to go down to the wire. Campania does have a 2-1 record over the Roos, however the most recent game was won by Triabunna and it will be hoping this provides them with a mental advantage.

Roos’ Simon Dudgeon and Brendan Klok need to maintain their consistency after standout performances last week and they will aim to get first hands on the football against the bigger-bodied Campania midfielders.

Thomas Pyke was accurate in front of goals last week and will be a focal point up forward again, while Alex Sweet and Austin Spencer will hold down the backline after putting their bodies on the line against Oatlands.

Sam Medhurst and Brock Steele gave their all last week for Campania and with a couple of on-field changes expected the side needs to respond in all positions if they are to head to the grand final next week.

Gates open from 11am and first bounce is at 1.30pm.
