According to documents filed with the court, the company allegedly owes the Australian Taxation Office $2,285,306.

The documents showed the tax office wrote to XVT Solutions on July 5 to demand the company make arrangements to pay the alleged outstanding payment. It then filed an affidavit on October 24 in support of an application for winding up the company.

Registrar Susie Stone yesterday adjourned the hearing by consent to February 6 next year.

She said if a further adjournment was sought by the defendant, it was to file a request by February 3. A representative from insolvency network Rodgers Reidy attended the hearing, but said they would not comment to the Mercury.

Information held by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission reveal the company was started in 2002. According to an excerpt on its website, XVT Solutions said the organisation was established in Hobart as an IT consultancy.

The company said it provided IT consulting, software development, solution implementation, hosting and managed services, to its website.

“We now offer a complete range of services to take organisations from idea, through development, solution implementation and ongoing support/hosting,’’ the excerpt read.

The company said it now operated Australia-wide, from three locations in Hobart, Sydney and Brisbane. according
