Show we can do it without them

TRADE AND CHINA

-

EXPORTERS are concerned because of the market at the moment and I see their point, but if we and governments are going to stand up to China we have to show them now that the rest of the world can live without them.

Finding other countries willing to buy our goods and services is a good first step otherwise nothing is going to change the way China wants to deal on its own terms with other nations. It’s time for a change and not to put all your eggs in one basket. We are Australians. We can do it.

wreaked on so many. China must be sent a strong message from the western world that their animal cruelty/hygiene habits are unacceptable. This is no time for sugar-coating, this virus has brought the world to its knees and they are to blame.

They have put their trade with western countries in jeopardy and need to prove to us they are willing to change. Otherwise we should be seeking other markets for our first class produce.

cables to Asia, make aviation kerosene and hydrogen. Hydrogen could be exported, used to make ammonia and for transport. There are jobs in sales, transport, installation and maintenance of solar panels and wind generators. We would pay less for electricity because generation by renewables is now cheaper than coal.

Productivity would be boosted, for example, agricultural output is severely compromised by warming of the planet. Jobs in some industries would be preserved — tens of thousands of tourist jobs could go if the Barrier Reef is destroyed.

By embracing these innovations, we would also be less dependent on China for our standard of living and, hence, in a better position to push back when China does things that we consider offensive.
