ALL Aerobics Fitness coowner Guy Franklin said he was thrilled his loyal gym junkies had supported him.

“It’s great to be recognised, it’s humbling and flattering,” he said.

“We’ve been operating for 30 years, so we’re most likely Tassie’s longest-running gym.

“We’ve got a lot of longterm members and we’ve changed with the times to cater for members’ long-term outcomes.”

All Aerobics has a new purpose-built city location and is about to introduce a pilates studio.

Mr Franklin said the gym focused on group sessions and culture.

“You find when people are interacting and it’s fun then it becomes their lifestyle and people feel good and get results, so it’s something they stick to.”

The gym normally has about 1200 members but is currently 75 per cent down since the COVID-19 shutdown.

“But people are starting to get back into it.

“During lockdown we had a huge online presence, we built up a catalogue of workout videos as well as running sessions each day.

“When the restrictions eased we were able to run outdoor spin and bootcamp classes in the car park.”

Mr Franklin put the gym’s success down to being able to adapt.

When they started 30 years ago they were doing aerobics classes in a hall, but they are now a modern gym with something for everyone.

All Aerobics Fitness received 14 per cent of Mercury readers’ vote in the Best Gym poll, narrowly beating Hobart Fitness Training on 13 per cent and GTT Performance Centre, which received nine per cent.
