Join the 26TEN Coalition
Are you interested in helping to improve adult literacy and numeracy in Tasmania? Expressions of Interest are being sought for new members to be part of the 26TEN Coalition.
Tasmanian leaders from adult learning, primary industries, aged care, disability services, and other service industries such as hospitality and renewable energy are encouraged to apply.
What is 26TEN?
26TEN is a statewide effort to ensure all Tasmanians have the literacy and numeracy skills they need to participate in family life, our communities, in learning and at work. The name 26TEN represents the 26 letters of the alphabet and the 10 digits we use for counting - the tools for life.
26TEN brings together business, community, government, training organisations and individuals across Tasmania. By working together, we can raise adult literacy and numeracy skills in our state.
Membership
The 26TEN Coalition is a group of influential Tasmanians motivating other Tasmanians to join the collective effort to lift literacy and numeracy. Coalition members are experienced, qualified and committed leaders of the Tasmanian community who volunteer their time to support 26TEN. Members have a strong connection to a specific sector, whether in industry, community or education. They provide leadership in their sector to prioritise adult literacy and numeracy actions, and encourage organisations to become members of 26TEN. They do this through outreach, raising awareness and engaging with colleagues in their sector.
The Coalition is supported by the Tasmanian Government through Libraries Tasmania. Membership will start in September 2020 and is initially for three years.
How do I apply?
Interested applicants can download an application kit from the 26TEN website, at www.26TEN.tas.gov.au. Use the template provided to indicate your qualifications, experience and how you could contribute to the Coalition.
Forward expressions of interest by 5pm on Friday, 21 August 2020 to the Manager 26TEN at email@26ten.tas.gov.au.
