Super Netball players will be paid at least 90 percent of their salaries for the remainder of this year’ s contract period after successful negotiations between clubs, the players’ association and league officials.

Until the contract period ends on November 30, players on annual netball salaries of more than $37,690 will receive 90 per cent of what they are owed, while the remainder will be paid via the Job Keeper scheme.

“We have come along way since negotiations commenced in March and feel fortunate to see an uplift in pay which has been made possible due to the extension of Job Keeper,” HarbyWilliams said. “The playing group, like all of us, have endured some of the most challenging conditions yet feel grateful they have been able to deliver a product to provide netball fans with some joy over the journey.”

Super Netball CEO Chris Symington also praised the players for ensuring the 2020 season took place despite the challenges presented by C OVID -19.

“Our players have gone above and beyond this year to deliver what has been an extraordinary season, so the league and teams are pleased to be able to agree on this final payment outcome with the playing group,” Symington said.
