TV BROADCAST DEAL WILL HIT SCREEN SAT TOP SPEED

FOX Sports will be the undisputed home of motor sport after signing Super cars for another fiveyears. In a joint broadcast deal that will also seethes port return to NetworkS even, Fox Sports will on Thursday announce detail sofa new deal that will see them show every Super cars race live until the end of 2025. The future securing joint deal is understood to be worth about $200 million over five years. “This deal is the product of a significan­t body of work to ensure we have the best team possible to take us forward into the future ,” said Super cars CEO Sean Seamer. “It provides certainty for our teams, fans and commercial partners that Super cars is here to stay as the top motor sport category in Australasi­a. “I am delighted to continue working with Patrick D el any and his team at Fox Sports and Foxtel. Their commitment to the sport and standard of coverage is worldclass and we’ re looking forward to watching on as they showcase the future of Australian motor sport .” Following an unpopular stint on Channel Ten where the network cherry-picked events, Channel Seven will resume its award-winning coverage of the sport after signing on as the free-to-air rights holder .“We’ re also thrilled towel comeback the Seven Network which helped bring motor sport to Australian living rooms way back int he early 1960s as the original broadcast partners of the Australian Touring Car Championsh­ip and the early days of Super cars ,” Seamer said .“Seven is internatio­nally renowned for its motor sport coverage so we’ re excited to see them welcome a new generation of fans. “I thank Fox tel CEO Patrick D el any and Seven West Chief Executive James War burton for their plans and commitment to growth is sport over the next five years. “I would also like to thank Network 10 who have been great partners of Super cars since 2015 and for their ongoing support throughout 2020.”
