KIDS COOK AND PLATE UP ALFRESCO

TROUT, rostis and stacks of apples are on the menu for these internatio­nally acclaimed chef’s kids’ cooking workshops.

Sarah G lover has sworn by cooking in the outdoors and will share knowledge on cooking, fire-making and fresh garden ingredient­s at Willie Smith’s.

The chef will introduce participan­ts to fire safety and help them cook trout using a stick and string over an open fire, heat potato rostis over the flames and create salads.

Ms Glover said the classes would make use of the nearby orchards, giving children the opportunit­y to make toffee apple sand smoked apple and cabbages law.

“The kids are goingng to be photograph­ing what hat they’re making for their recipe books, so o they’ ll each go home with a recipe book with photos of their own dish that they’ve made to go with their recipe,” she he said.

“I love their inquisitiv­e sitive questions they have,, it’s so great to see them having aving fun out in nature again not being stuck indoors.”

There nowned chef, explorer and author will run an Instagram competitio­n for four mum stow in tickets to send their kids to the workshop and spend the day together.

Workshops will run 10 am - 2 pm on Tuesday, October 6 and Thursday, October 8 at 2064 Huon Hwy, Grove.

Tickets are $160 per child each day, with a 20 percent discount for two kids or more from the same family and are availablea­tsarahglov­er.com. au/kids-workshops
