Easy win over leaders has Glenorchy well placed

GLENORCHY Rodman showed it is still a big chance to make finals this year with a 31shot win over previous ladder leaders Rosny Park in Bowls Tasmania South’s Premier Division on Saturday

Debutant Damien Sutton enjoyed a great game in the two spot for Luke Turner who also played well to defeat Peter Bannister by 23 shots. Steve Clifford relished the quick green to help Josh Baker defeat Connor Munnings by six shots. Tony Vince picked up 15 shots to one in the last five ends to beat Mick Sweeny by six shots. Rosny Park won on the final rink with David Genford defeating Cam Tegg.

Kingboroug­h had a convincing 47- shot win over Cremorne. Jarod Long defeated Leigh Munnings by 24 shots, Ryan Guy beat Ralph Tieman by 14 shots and William Coad overcame Pat Hoffman by 12 shots. Cremorne’s sole pennant point came from Brad Knight’s draw with Jason Fowler.

Sandy Bay defeated a gallant Dover RSL by seven shots. Andrew Norris defeated Roger Dale by nine shots and Bryce Guy led all day to beat Brad Carver by eight shots. Dover RSL won on the other two rinks. Jarrah Allan held off Keghan Booth to win by seven shots. Rick Ormerod was in front of Ryan McCoull for most of the day. McCoull fought back to level the scores after 18 ends and was one shot up going into the final end. On his last bowl of the day, Ormerod trailed the kitty into the ditch for a four and a threeshot overall win.

Brighton was too good for Beltana winning by 42 shots. Mick Daniels defeated Shane Young by 13 and Greg Fehlberg beat Mick Coppleman by the same margin. Ricky Limbrick defeated Keith Miller by eight shots and Grant Wakefield came from behind to beat Steve Midson by eight shots.

Buckingham overcame New Norfolk by 11 shots. Grant Chamberlai­n defeated Wayne Lampkin by seven shots, Alvin Cooke beat Barry Bone by three shots and Todd Oakley finished two shots in front of Anthony Briggs. New Norfolk’s Kerry Hill defeating Isaac Maughan by one shot.
