MILLIONS SPENT FOR MAGNIFICENCE

- JARRAD BEVAN REAL ESTATE EDITOR

TWO homes in Battery Point – Tasmania’s most exclusive suburb – have been sold for multimillion-dollar sums. And both were snapped up by Tasmanian buyers.

No.14 Clarke Ave was bought in January by a buyer from the NorthWest Coast while No.58A Napoleon St was bought by a Hobart family.

Prestige property expert Pam Corkhill, from recently launched agency Harrison Agents Hobart, sold both properties.

Mrs Corkhill said the Clarke Ave home was sold after just four days on the market while Napoleon St went live on Tuesday and was sold by Thursday.

“At Napoleon St we were asking for offers over $4.95m and we achieved it,” she said.

“It was a very good result. There was a great deal of interest in the home, with seven inspections.

“This is a reflection of how highly regarded Hobart and Tasmania are, and all that we have to offer here.

“After 28 years in the local industry, selling a property for a vendor still carries the same thrill for me, I love it.”

Both Battery Point homes could be described as among Tassie’s finest, with sale prices in the upper echelon of Tasmania’s market. Once settled, No.14 Clarke Ave is expected to be a record sale for its suburb.

No.58A Napoleon St is sleek and sophisticated, an angular architectural masterpiece. The triple-level home is state-of-the-art in all respects. On the middle level is an indoor lap pool.

Each of these Battery Point homes boasts a title to high watermark.

No.14 Clarke Ave occupies one of the prime waterfront sites in Hobart with views of the Derwent River from Macquarie Point and the Tasman Bridge to South Arm and the tip of Long Point in Sandy Bay.
