I WATCH with disgust Scotty scurrying off to suck up to his ageing Anglo mates but barely a word about him on the PBS news hour from America. They not only forget his name but obviously see him as a bit of a joke. Although they do speak English and are white. He leaves a trail of disasters from his sacking

in marketing through to every portfolio he has headed. He conveniently leaves behind the inefficient rollout of vaccines and provision of satisfactory quarantine hubs. He and his cronies have thrown away millions if not billions of dollars wasted on pork barrelling, excessive costs on the new airport for Sydney, overspending of job keeper to organisations that did not need it, total neglect in closing the gap relating to indigenous populations, reduced funding for CSIRO, universities, ABC, aged care and any other program that might just help us progress as a society. And this is just the short list.

If he can’t handle the pandemic, heaven only knows how he will deal with climate change — an even greater existential threat.

To let the French know the night before of this secretive submarines deal without giving them a chance to renegotiate the contract with a possibility of converting the submarines to nuclear capabilities is more than just a slap in the face. This, our great leader hopes, can be rectified in time with an apology reminiscent of the laying on of hands at the 2019 bush fire evacuation centres. Was this supposed to comfort those affected to rebuild without much needed compensation? But this AUKUS (substitute the A for an F would be more appropriate) is also a gross slap in the face for our close neighbours such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

With his track record, Scott Morrison has shown himself to be a smirking fool with a very mediocre but cunning mind. If the voting population conveniently forget the whole trail of his disasters and failures and see this present distraction as a reason to re-elect him, we are in for a serious backward slide into anonymity. New Zealand here we come!
