Tassie to savour a sweet change

-

APPARENTLY many people in Tassie are excited at the prospect of Krispy Kreme doughnuts being available right here in our little piece of paradise.

I occasionally indulge, but I always thought you were getting ripped off because you only get part of the delicacy (middle bit missing).

Sort of like what some politicians offer; a large, attractive promise to do something constructive, but with a little substance missing.

While we now get the KK doughnuts, don’t forget to support the great producers we have here. See you round like a doughnut!

THE PRICE OF FREEDOM

Aerosol particles (exhaled breath) are potential carriers of Covid and can cause “Long Covid” and cerebrovascular disease affecting brain microcirculation triggering subsequent neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration, which is a recognised risk factor for stroke, vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

The phrase “post-Covid” used across the media to presumably conjure up the impression that we are not only over the worst of the epidemic but are approaching some imaginary Covid-free period, is a dangerous lie. The term “postCovid” should be replaced with something like “deep Covid” as in “deep s***”. Because that is what Tasmania is in if you look at the effect this will continue to have across our community.

Consistent health advice is being totally ignored by those who, like it or not, should be portrayed in the media for what they are. Notwithstanding the relatively few who have mask-wearing exemptions, perhaps we should start to view and describe the vast majority of anti-mask wearers mingling among us, with new adjectives akin to cretins, imbeciles, etc.

Maybe we could displace IQ test scores with a mask wearing or not ratings. Any suggestions? Or have I overlooked the high incidence of so-called “freedom” syndrome in relation to Covid.
