Swimming

It’s the final night of swimming and while Australia has absolutely dominated in the pool, all eyes will be on Emma McKeon to see just how many medals she takes home with her eighth race the women’s 4x100m medley relay. It’s been a huge meet for the Dolphins, with a bag full of gold medals, world records and a little bit of controvers­y along the way.

Hockey

It’s the final group game for our Hockeyroos with a clash against Scotland to determine who they meet in the semi-finals. For the men, the Kookaburra­s will play South Africa and look to keep their strong tournament rolling with one group stage game tomorrow.

Cricket

Australia has made a strong start to their Commonweal­th Games campaign, but this final group clash against Pakistan is crucial to decide who progresses to the semi-finals on Saturday. Can Tahlia McGrath continue to be the saviour for the Aussies with her hot form with the bat?

Athletics

It’s the finals of the blue riband track events the men’s and women’s 100m. Rohan Browning will need a semi-final stunner to make the final. Meanwhile Evan O’Hanlon will be a strong chance for gold in the T37/38 100m final to continue the golden start by our athletics team.

Table tennis

Australia’s most successful star Jian Fang Lay will look to continue her remarkable medal history as the women’s and men’s singles enters round two. Fang Lay, a 49-year-old mother of two, had already won seven Commonweal­th Games medals coming into these Games.

Badminton

Australia’s badminton team - the Falcons - will be chasing individual glory today with the men’s and women’s singles round of 64. Hsuan-Yu Wendy Chen is our best hope, she won the Oceania Championsh­ip this year and the dual Olympian will be right in the medal hunt here.

Lawn bowls

Defending champion Aaron Wilson will be our big hope when the men’s singles competitio­n starts today. Wilson provided one of the highlights of the Gold Coast Games when he stripped his shirt off after winning the singles gold medal in front of a vocal home crowd.

Weightlift­ing

Charisma Amoe-Tarrant won silver at the Gold Coast Games competing for Nauru. Now lifting for Australia, Amoe-Tarrant is a red-hot gold medal contender in the women’s 87kg. Jackson Roberts-Young will also compete today in the men’s 109kg.

Mountain biking

Daniel McConnell leads a strong Aussie mountain bike team at his third Games, with debutants Sam Fox and Zoe Cuthbert also hoping to get in amongst the medals at Cannock Chase Forest. McConnell won bronze at Glasgow in 2014 but could only manage seventh in 2018.

Boxing

Three Australian­s will fight it out in the quarterfin­als today with men’s middleweig­ht Callum Peters, 19. the youngest and a rising star of the sport. Kaye Scott and Caitlin Parker are also fighting for a spot in the semi-finals and a chance to win a medal.
