After months of moving backwards across our skies, the red planet, Mars, finally moves forwards today. So, as Jeff Bezos celebrates his birthday, he isn’t the only one about to have access to a rocket. In the coming days, as sources of tension are released, we’ll all experience a boost of energy and a sense of freedom. Yet, a feeling of joyfulness doesn’t indicate this is a joy ride. It’s by acting with purpose and choosing meaningful paths that we can start heading towards new, exciting destinations.

ARIES MAR 21 – APR 20

Imagination is a powerful tool. Anticipation is a potent motivational force. When the two are combined, they can create an explosive cocktail, and with your ruler, Mars, finally moving forwards, there are extra bubbles of excitement adding to the mix. But, whether you’re looking forward to something you think is going to be wonderful, or something you expect to be tricky, you have ultimate control over the outcome. Breathe, and focus on what’s right and reasonable. Don’t be intoxicated by maybes and look, instead, at what’s real.

LEO JUL 24 – AUG 23

Decisions are being taken. Choices are being made without your influence. You seem to be in a position where someone else is making the plans. If you try to explore other options, there’s a risk of provoking conflict and, anyway, you’re not sure there’s any point in putting up a fight. Yet, isn’t there something vaguely reassuring about being in the passenger seat while someone else drives? Since they’re focused on the road, can’t you control the satnav? Actually, you can direct the journey forwards, and relax. Perfect.

SAGITTARIUS NOV 23 – DEC 21

You’ve had a lot to deal with recently. The festive season was demanding, and there’s been no let-up since then. Fortunately, you thrive under pressure. The more plates you’re spinning, the happier you are. It might not make you happy, but it makes you feel valued – and, as an optimistic Sagittarian, you know there’s always a way out when it all gets too much. As Mars begins to move forwards, you’ll find that your energy levels rise. Even the plates that were starting to wobble can be set spinning again. There’s little that can stop you now.

TAURUS APR 21 – MAY 21

It’s easy to make a decision when we’re not completely invested in the outcome of a situation. It’s also easy if we’re confident about what needs doing, and where we’re headed. When we move with conviction, momentum carries us like a wave, and overrides any obstacles in our path. If you’re wondering whether a current problem is going to derail your plans (or whether you’ve made a good decision), stop. With Mars moving forwards, if you’re assertive, and keep going, you can be confident about your trajectory. Full steam ahead! For free audio and video forecasts, visit ozfree.cainer.com

VIRGO AUG 24 – SEP 23

Sometimes it seems as if we can’t move for rules, regulations, and restrictions. Forms must be filed. Responsibilities upheld. Contracts adhered to. Surrounded by so many limitations, it’s no wonder we feel stifled. Getting through the day is tough enough without trying to inject vim and vigour into these boundaried situations. Yet, as Mars moves forwards, some of the self-imposed barriers you’ve constructed to protect yourself, are easing. If you change your own rules today, you’ll be surprised by what you can shake free of.

CAPRICORN DEC 22 – JAN 20

Although it’s natural that we talk more easily with the people we’re in close contact with, there are times when a conversation with the person sitting next to us on the bus enables us to share information we don’t feel able to talk about with our nearest and dearest. You’ve been safeguarding some thoughts that remain unspoken. They’ve been bubbling away on a backburner in your mind for a while. Today brings the right person to hear your ideas. You don’t have to search for them, and their input will inspire you to take action.

GEMINI MAY 22 – JUN 22

As Mars, in your sign, changes direction, something is finally starting to shift. You’re already seeing signs and signals that suggest you’re no longer obliged to stay within defined limits. If you’re hesitant about instigating a small change in case it triggers a series of uncontrollable events, rest assured that whatever unfolds will be positive. If you’re desperate for the process of transformation to begin, don’t hold back. Just a small step forwards will act like a catalyst today. The frustrations you’ve been bound by are disappearing.

LIBRA SEP 24 – OCT 23

No matter how many years you’ve been living on planet Earth, you’re older than you think. Your soul is eternal. Your mind, on the other hand, is as young as you choose it to be. It’s worth remembering these facts today because a boost of celestial energy (the result of dynamic Mars changing direction) brings exciting opportunities your way. Your task is to let go of the obligation to act like a sensible grown-up. As long as you respond with childlike enthusiasm to any new possibilities that arise, wonderful things can happen.

AQUARIUS JAN 21 – FEB 19

You’re not quite what you seem. Not because you’re secretive, guarded, or protective of your privacy, but because you feel most comfortable being your true self around those you love and trust. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it might explain why someone close to you, who’s struggling, doesn’t feel like they can ask you for help. It’s not that they don’t trust you, they’ve just not been privileged to experience your generosity. By being open-hearted today, you have the chance to make a significant difference to someone’s life.

CANCER JUN 23 – JUL 23

Academics are smart but not always practical. If you need to know the ins and outs of thermonuclear fusion, ask a physicist. But if you want help mending your dishwasher, you’d be better advised to go elsewhere. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Expecting something from someone they’re illequipped to give isn’t their failure, it’s ours. If you’re disappointed about the way a certain person is handling their responsibilities, you might be able to help. Criticism won’t motivate them. Checking out how they are will.

SCORPIO OCT 24 – NOV 22

Many city centres have an area where cartoonists make money by drawing caricatures of people. Although the resulting portraits might amuse your nearest and dearest, seeing an exaggeration of one’s own features is unlikely to bring much pleasure. There are times when it’s OK to exaggerate, and times when it’s better to keep a sense of perspective and proportion. Could you be in danger of viewing a current situation in an extreme way? Today brings information that changes your perception, and makes you smile.

PISCES FEB 20 – MAR 20

We close the curtains at night to stop the light in our rooms from going out to the street, and to prevent people from seeing in. In the morning though, the same device prevents the outside light from entering, and if we forget that the curtains are drawn, we might spend the day wondering why it’s so dark. Similarly, we close shutters in our minds to protect ourselves from situations that have made us feel vulnerable. If we don’t open them up again, other people won’t be able to enter our lives. It’s time to let more light into your life.
